Nakasato, Japan, 2000
Located at the periphery of the grounds of Nakasato Junior High School, the is a full scale reconstruction of the artist’s London terraced house reduced to a metal frame outline with its roof partially submerged into the ground. The structure rises up on a displaced angle, maintaining its exact English perpendicular and horizontal orientation to True North, without regard to the local geography.
